Had a fantastic dining experience at Alexander's Steakhouse! The ribeye was absolutely delicious--cooked to perfection and full of flavor. While I wasn't too impressed with most of the sides, the truffle fries were a standout. But the real showstopper? The opera chocolate dessert--absolutely to die for! The ambiance was elegant, and the service was top-notch. We enjoyed a wonderful cocktail, but I kept coming back to the Moscato--sweet, smooth, and perfect for the meal. The staff was friendly, and the pacing of the meal was just right. My only small gripe? I wish the view outside the front door was a bit better, but inside, everything was spot-on. Definitely a place worth revisiting!

We've been to Alexander's Steakhouse many times and even had a UYE Yelp Holiday party there. It was our "go to" steakhouse in San Francisco. The atmosphere and ambiance is classy yet comfortable, making it perfect for a date night or with family and kids. The service is fantastic--the steaks and wagyu were awesome but let's be honest, we all came here for the cotton candy.

Came to Alexander's for restaurant week and enjoyed the experience! A 4 course meal came to $90 pp but we still felt compelled to add in some extras. We began with the Hokkaido milk bread with three butters. If you're looking for that flavor punch, the black sesame or yuzu butter will really meet that need but if you're seeking that more nuanced elevation, that wagyu butter was...chef's kiss. It had an unctuous beefy quality to it and was remarkably rich. We also shared the wagyu charcuterie platter. We all had our own favorites on the plate so it worked well for the group! For my restaurant week choices, I started with the wagyu rillettes, then the butternut squash soup, the steak frites, and a carrot cake. I liked the uniqueness of the rillettes but my favorite course may have been the butternut squash soup. It was smooth and creamy and I really enjoyed the addition of the roasted pepitas. For the main, I did add in a diver scallop and the bone marrow to my steak. The steak itself was just okay in my opinion. It lacked a crust and was a little light on seasoning (but the fries over compensated on salt). The marrow added a delightful beefy butteriness but the real star was really that scallop. Mine was cooked perfectly! When it came to dessert, I thought my carrot cake was pretty good! All the piped elements were delicious but the cake was just a hair bit dense for me. When it came to service, it was great. Staff was attentive and the sommelier helped us make a great choice for pairing. All in all, glad I tried the OG Alexander's, but if you want my true opinion, I think their "sea" option is far better.

I had such a pleasant time at the steakhouse. I got the butternut squash soup, the 8 ounce fillet with mashed potatoes and a Matcha crème brûlée for dessert. I'm not a big beef eater so I don't order steak too often but I figured since I'm at a steakhouse, I might as well. Tasted pretty good but I wasn't wowed by it. I think I should've gotten the fish option instead. However, the highlights for me were the soup and the dessert. They were both so good and so flavorful. I've never had a matcha crème brûlée before! Our service was really great and the servers were very friendly. Overall, a wonderful time and would recommend for any steak lovers.

Very nice and kind service, and i really liked the portions for their food and the taste. It's a nice place and they have street parking.

I went here for one of my birthday celebrations recently and had a reservation here. It was on a Saturday around 8:30pm and the restaurant didn't seem too busy at that time. Once we got seated, we were quickly given our menu and a warm, moist towel to wipe our hands before ordering. Before the meals started coming, they surprised us with a small shot of Mushroom Consommé drink (it tasted like a mushroom soup). We ended up ordering the Yerba Buena Cocktail, Hokkaido Milk Bread, A5 Wagyu Charcuterie, Truffle Fries, Mashed Potato, Premium Prime 18 Ounce Ribeye, Japanese Miyazaki A5 Wagyu, Flavored Cotton Candy, Pistachio Honey Cake w/ Chocolate Drizzle, Wagyu-Fat Pananccio w/ Salted Caramel & Raspberry Patonbini. The Flavored Cotton Candy, Pistachio Honey Cake w/ Chocolate Drizzle, and Wagyu-Fat Pananccio w/ Salted Caramel & Raspberry Patonbini came in a set because it was part of the birthday dessert. All the food was very good, but some portions were smaller than what I expected. My favorite item from this entire meal was the A5 Wagyu Charcuterie. The variety of wagyu slices ranged from a wagyu with a more smokey flavor to a ham type of flavor. I love unique food items and charcuterie boards, so that was basically like a 2-in-1. The only issue I had were the mashed potatoes since it didn't taste that special. The mashed potatoes was like a thin purée type of texture and I tend to prefer a thicker consistency. I'd recommend this place! They sell a wide variety of items and many of the items includes some type of steak ingredient in it, which I felt it made it unique. The customer service here is very good too and I loved how they explained each item and the ambiance of this restaurant is very classy too. Some portion sizes here are a bit small though.
